May We Help You? I’m Jester, the Whisker Gifters Director of Cat Stuff, and this is Baron, the Director of Dog Stuff. This is our Customer Service FAQ page. It has answers to questions you might have while visiting one of our sites or when you decide to place an order. 1) Who Does Your Hair?
I professionally groom myself. As for Baron, a dab of gel mixed with a little wind while sticking his head out the window of a moving car and he’s good to go, if you like that sort of look.
2) Who Owns This Site?
I should, and am in the process of arranging financing for a hostile take-over. Until then, it will be owned and operated by my employer, Cataco, Inc., which was incorporated in New York State in 2000. Around the office, we refer to Cataco as “Corporate."
3) What Exactly Are Your Jobs?
I’m the Whisker Gifters Director of Cat Stuff. I make sure that the Birthday Club for Cats and the Gifts for Felines sites contain the very best content and products. I also make sure that my assistants, the Fluffys and Smokey, are working diligently on your behalf, which, believe me, is not an easy thing for cats to do.
Baron is the Whisker Gifters Director of Dog Stuff. He makes sure that the Birthday Club for Dogs and the Gifts for Canines sites are up to the standards you've come to expect from us. He also makes sure that his assistants Jupiter, Sassy and Petey, are working hard to make your experience with us a pleasant one.
4) When and How Can I Contact You?
I'd like to work about an hour a day, but Corporate demands I be here between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET. The best way to contact me is to send an email to jester@whiskergifters.com. 5) How Can I Place an Order?
Our sites are hosted by GoDaddy, use a secure shopping cart and PayPal to process orders. You can place an order online 60 seconds a minute, 60 minutes an hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You can also call us at (516) 708-9374 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. But remember, we don't have opposable thumbs so we may not be able to pick up the phone. If you get our voicemail, please leave a message and we'll return your call as soon as possible.
6) What Are My Payment Options?
All online and phone orders are processed through PayPal, the most secure online payment processor available. You do not need a PayPal account to pay with American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa or a bank card. Do not even think of sending me a small rodent as payment, even if you caught it yourself. (Baron wants me to tell you he's sorry Corporate no longer allows him to accept retrieved sticks as payment either.) Please remember that all credit card transactions will list Cataco, Inc. (Corporate, remember?), not Whisker Gifters, as the vendor. You can also choose "Check/Money Order" as your payment method at checkout. Make your check payable to "Cataco, Inc." and mail it to the address on the invoice and we'll ship your order as soon as we receive your payment.
7) What Are My Shipping Options and How Much Will It Set Me Back?
- Free Pet Food Delivery on Long Island
Whisker Gifters offers free pet food delivery to customers on Long Island for orders $39.00 and above. Whether you need free cat food delivery or free dog food delivery, we'll be on our way in no time. We usually deliver on Tuesdays and Fridays, but the days can vary based on product availability.
- Pet Food Delivery in New York City and Westchester County
Whisker Gifters offers inexpensive delivery of pet food to customers in Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island and Westchester County for $6.95. Whether you need cat food delivery or dog food delivery, we'll ship or deliver your order in no time. We usually deliver on Tuesdays and Fridays, but the days can vary based on product availability. Note that the $6.95 delivery charge is for orders 35lbs and under. Each additional 35lbs is $6.95.
- Pet Food Delivery Anywhere Else in the US
Orders for other destinations in the United States ship via your choice of UPS or the USPS. Shipping charges are based on the weight and destination of the order. (If the delivery address is a PO Box, you must select an option provided by the USPS.) Note that we ship from Port Washington, NY., so most orders shipping along the East Coast should arrive in 2-3 business days.
8) What Is Your Return Policy?
Food and treats may only be returned if they arrive damaged or have been shipped in error. Non-food items may be returned within 60 days of purchase. Please call us at (516) 708-9374 if your order arrives damaged or if you would like to return it.
9) Will I Have to Pony Up Sales Tax?
If the delivery address is within New York State, sales tax of 8.5% will be collected.
10) Where Did the Phrase "Pony Up" Originate?
I neither know nor care. We don't sell anything for ponies on any of our sites, even though several of Baron's friends live on farms and have been pushing us to do so.
11) Is a Deposit Required on Personalized Items?
A 50% deposit (charged to a credit card or PayPal) is in fact required on all personalized items when the order is placed. The balance is charged when the item ships.
12) What If My Order Arrives Damaged?
Baron says not to, but I say, "First, bite the delivery person." Then, send an email to me jester@whiskergifters.com or to Baron baron@whiskergifters.com or call one of us at (516) 708-9374. We'll make sure a replacement is sent or your money is refunded right away.
13) How Do I Use My Discount Coupon?
Enter the Discount Coupon code when requested during checkout. Baron's not very good at math so I’ll make sure the correct amount is deducted.
14) How Can I Update My Account?
When you join one of our clubs or buy from us, you will be asked to create an account. You can then update any and all information you have provided by logging into your account any time it is convenient for you. Please note that for security purposes your "Club" account is separate from your "Purchaser" account.
15) Who Wrote the Testimonials?
The very clever and talented employees of Cataco, Inc. have written all testimonials attributed to cats and dogs. They (the testimonials, not the employees) are intended for entertainment purposes only, not as product endorsements, and are not meant to mislead anyone about any of the products or services offered on this site. Testimonials written by employees of Cataco, Inc. will always have an illustration of a cat or dog next to the text. The names of the cats and dogs have been made up. The cities in which the made-up cats live, however, are real. Cataco, Inc. testimonials will look like this:
"I will not forward the Birthday Club for Dogs link to the dogs I know. If they can't find the site on their own, too bad." Posey S. - Madison, WI
A testimonial supplied by an actual customer, either canine, feline or humine, will be edited for space only and will not have a photo associated with it.
